It crossed Taylor Allen's mind that he was going down the same road his father had many years ago.
Dan Allen played linebacker at tiny Hanover College in Indiana. He was not drafted, but he did earn an invitation to the rookie camp of the Atlanta Falcons. He didn't make the team, but it was an experience he never forgot.
Taylor Allen has finished his gridiron career at Endicott College, a Division 3 program in Beverly that is barely a decade old. But if you can play, the NFL will find you, even if you live in a cave, which is why the undrafted Allen spent four days in Florida last week at the Jacksonville Jaguars' rookie minicamp. The focus of the camp will be on drills and techniques for all offensive and defensive positions. Youth players will be taught fundamentals at their positions with emphsis on skill development. Small group instruction will allow coaches to give the players individual attention and monitor progress.

Trey not only put in the dedication, time and hard work required of all athletes on the playing field, he also put that same effort in the class room and has excelled as a result. Additionally Trey, and all the other scholar athletes elected, have participated in their communities, neighborhoods, and schools with extra-curricular activities and volunteer work which is the foundation of a strong society. It is individuals such as these that that will be leading the path for future generations, Central Mass Youth Football and Cheer Conference recognize these individuals for their overall achievement.
Eligibility for the Central Mass Athlete Scholar Program requires that the candidate has a 96.5% overall average in the 4 core courses, English, Math, Science and Social Studies. Additionally points are awarded for to their overall average for community volunteering, participation in other activities and groups. It should be noted that these award recipients were selected out of over 60 candidates. Some of these individuals have been submitted to The AYF National Office as they scholastic average was 98% or above and will be eligible for National recognition.

Sean played Offensive and Defensive Tackle and helped the team shutout 2 of the 3 teams they played. After two nights of tryouts in early November that included roughly 80 of the best 8th grade football players in Central MA, 22 players were selected to The team practiced for the month of November to prepare and finished in 3rd place with a 2-1 record, beating the New Hampshire AYF all-star team 12-0 and the Chicago AYF all-star team 12-0 and losing to the 2nd placed team from Seattle, WA. |
